The club made their first group appearance at a regatta for some years with a mix of juniors, seniors and masters. The sun was shining all weekend however a strong crosswind from the east made for some incredibly challenging conditions causing experienced scullers to capsize.
Our junior boys, Andrew Morrison, Christopher Morrison, Nathan Lakeland and Hugh Agnostinelli were joined by Castle Semple’s Blair Morrison to compete in the J14 4x+ and placed 3rd in the B final.
Hugh, Christopher and Andrew also competed individually in the J14 1x – where just keeping afloat in the conditions was an achievement. Andrew placed 6th in the E final, with Hugh and Christopher finishing 1st and 2nd in the F final. The boys still have more years racing in the J14 category and were up against older and more experienced competition.
Andrew Mortimer competed in the O1x and made it to the B final. He also rowed alongside Clydesdale in the O4x placing 3rd in the A final behind some very competitive Edinburgh and Strathclyde boats.
Eva Rankine placed 2nd in the W Mas DEF 4x final, rowing under Castle Semple colours.
A big thanks to all the club members who helped out making the weekend possible, including Coach Jim, Treasurer Louise, Laurent & Isla and Jim Morrison.
