24th December 2018
Christmas has come early for LLRC!  An amazing amount, a massive £1443.32 was raised in the CoOp in Balloch! Huge thanks to all our volunteer bag packers and the extremely generous folk of the Vale of Leven and beyond. Thanks also to Davie, Nicola and their family for kindly doing the counting at super fast speed! A massive group effort folks, WELL DONE ALL !!!!

Easyfundraising is a quick and easy way to raise funds for the Rowing Club. We have already raised £136 through it and is simple and easy to do. It costs nothing, but if you purchase online and go through easyfundraising a percentage of your purchase automatically goes to Club funds. The % depends on the company but does add up, especially at this time of year. Click on the link below to set up. It is really quick and easy, honestly!

A little bit of history found at the weir on the river Leven by Loch Lomond Rowing Club Members.
skyThis lifesaver ring has the name Skylark IX on it, which was one of the small boats that rescued many from Dunkirk and LLRC handed it over to the Skylark IX Trust.

Mary Burch, secretary of the trust, said: "We are delighted. It will be wonderful to get it on display."
In 1940 The Skylark IX and her crew headed to the beaches of Dunkirk during Operation Dynamo and made numerous round trips between May 27 and June 4. The crew battled against conditions which saw 236 Allied vessels sunk and their courageous actions saved 600 stranded troops from the beaches, where they were being attacked and shelled by the invading German army. After surviving the war against the odds the 50ft cruiser resumed her civilian duties but fell into disrepair before sinking. It had been submerged in the River Leven at Balloch but in 2013 the Skylark IX Recovery Trust was formed to restore the boat, now being stored by the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine, to its former glory.

Rowing the Loch 7th April 2018
We have done it - we rowed the length of Loch Lomond and the weather didn't stop us this time!
A huge thanks to Loch Lomond Rescue and Barry and Ian for their safety support and to everyone who proved land support and sustenance.
Thanks Heather, for making it possible!
On 23rd September 2017 we attempted to row the Loch and were at Ardlui for 6:15 sharp, all rigged and ready to get on the water. Weather conditions got worse by the minute and our Safety Officer canceled all further rowing.  But we did it on the 7th April 2018 and thank you very much for all your sponsership for our new roof!

Loch Lomond RC Fundrasing at Christmas - 24th December 2016
Due to the huge generosity of members of our local area, we made an AMAZING amount of £1574.55.
This would not have been possible without the huge effort from all our fabulous members, young and not so young and their family and friends who donned festive hats with Rowing Club Hoodies and gave up their precious time on Christmas Eve to smile and chat whilst packing bags.
This was a huge task, when most would rather be on the sofa watching festive movies, but you all rose to the occasion and the Rowing Club have made lots of money because of your efforts. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

coopDonna managed to secure the club a prime time bag packing opportunity at the Balloch Co-op on Christmas Eve. The shop was busy with Christmas shoppers and the people of Balloch and surrounding areas have been very generous filling our buckets. We have raised the huge amount of £1008.24 for our much needed club funds.
Thank you to all the juniors and adults who took time out of the busy pre - Christmas rush to help us with the bag pack!
